Neo Li is a screenwriter and director, originally from a small Hu-Tong near Tian An Men Square in Beijing and now based in West Hills, Los Angeles. His work has received recognition from Austin Film Festival, Final Draft Big Break, Palm Springs Short Film Festival, Copenhagen LGBTQ+ Film Festival, and Nashville Film Festival. Previously a Creative Development Executive at Starlight Media (Crazy Rich Asians), Neo contributed to projects like Wuhan Wuhan, Umma, and Malignant, collaborating with industry icons like Donnie Yen and Academy Award-winner Donna Gigliotti. His short films Hank and Waiting for Frank, along with screenplays like Tou Qi and My Chinese Neighbor, have resonated with audiences worldwide. As an educator, Neo also mentors young filmmakers at the Youth Cinema Project and New York Film Academy.
Neo is a green thumb and he co-raises two big cats with his partner.
